Web3 Expansion: Binance Labs Funds Delphinus Lab to Advance Open-Source zkWASM Virtual Machine for Web3 Applications

Binance Labs, the investment and innovation division of Binance, has made a financial commitment to Delphinus Lab, a tech infrastructure entity that has pioneered the first publicly accessible zkWASM virtual machine. This virtual machine backs trustless computing and Software Development Kits (SDKs) for applications.

The zkWASM technology allows software creators to build zero-knowledge (ZK) applications in their language of choice and to roll them out across platforms that support WebAssembly (WASM). By merging zero-knowledge proof mechanisms with WASM, this technology elevates the security and privacy features of applications, setting the stage for a digital world that is both decentralized and trustless.

Yi He, who is a Co-Founder of Binance as well as the Head of Binance Labs, stated:

"At Binance Labs, we’re committed to supporting projects building critical infrastructure to propel the growth of Web3 applications. Delphinus Lab’s zkWASM implementation will welcome a new wave of Web2 developers onto the Web3 landscape. We look forward to witnessing Delphinus Lab lead the zkWASM narrative, and enabling widespread adoption of Web3 applications among developers and end users."

WebAssembly (WASM) is a commonly utilized virtual machine that was collaboratively developed by key tech players including Google, Mozilla, Microsoft, and Apple back in 2017. It enables code to execute natively in browsers and supports many popular programming languages widely employed by developers.

The zkWASM virtual machine from Delphinus Lab serves a vital function, acting as a trustless conduit between intricate applications running on WASM-based smart contracts across multiple blockchain platforms.

Paving the Way for Next-Gen Web3 DApps

The capital infusion from Binance Labs will facilitate the sustained growth of Delphinus Lab's zkWASM-based application layering platform, known as zkWASM Hub. This platform offers automated proof generation and batching services for application tasks, and features configurable WASM extensions.

Developers can also easily disseminate their GitHub applications on the zkWASM Hub by leveraging its automated compilation and update service.

Sinka Gao, the Founder and CEO of Delphinus Lab, remarked:

"Our zkWASM Hub introduces a streamlined multi-chain execution layer for developers to easily deploy and manage their WASM-backed apps in a dynamic rollup environment. Our goal is to enable next-generation Web3 DApps that leverage the robustness of Web2 while embracing the decentralized, trustless nature of Web3. We’re excited to partner with Binance Labs, a leading player, and anticipate the adoption of WASM-based applications."

Delphinus Lab is currently leading the charge in zkWASM technological advancements in the Web3 domain, delivering the initial public zero-knowledge virtual machine engineered to back WASM. This innovative step is readily accessible to developers via zkWASM Hub, and it reimagines the landscape of secure, efficient decentralized applications.

As the investment and innovation arm of Binance, Binance Labs now boasts a valuation exceeding $9 billion. Its investment portfolio spans 200 initiatives from over 25 countries and across six continents, yielding a return on investment rate surpassing 10X. Notably, 50 of the projects in Binance Labs' portfolio have completed its incubation programs.
